There are a few dozen DDRs on the LP2s mainly involving Lincoln's left hand but also the book. Most of them are very minor but a few do have significant spread and command a premium. The "bootstrap" would just be a well placed die crack. That seems to be a point of inherent weakness on that reverse die because I have seen several iterations of that crack so they are not coming from a singular die. Most dies have a point or two(or more) of inherent weakness where dies will repeatedly crack. On the Lincoln Memorial die, the cornices of the Memorial are frequently found with a crack and once in a while cracks will be emanating from each of the four corners.

One thing to point out is that NONE of the doubled thumb/finger LP2 cents are "errors" - they are "die varieties," and the two are vastly different.

You find Cents with stuff struck into them. There was a rash of these state ones years ago.

They were put together as sets back in thday. But to a collector they are just a damaged coin. So the coin set was either stolen and spent or the owner realized it was just damaged and spent it themselves. People still save them when found, but realistic value hurts them.
