I just got a new Dansco Lincoln Cent album and was looking at it and noticed there are 4 sets of 2009 blanks (P, D and S) in this book.
What exactly is different about them?
Is there a P,D and S of each reverse design?
I see in just the stack of pennies I have on hand only 3 different reverse designs (Lincoln seated on the log, Lincoln outside the capitol bldg, and the log cabin).
What is the 4th design?

You'll have 4 different designs for '09.
Each design will have a Philly, a Denver, and a San Fran. Proof mint (San Fran.'s are 95% Copper, by the way)

So, there'd be EIGHT P & D's....
And there'd be FOUR S mints....

(For those who differentiate the Satin Finish from the regular business strikes, technically, you could get 8 more P&D's with those too).....

Four different stages in his life were commemorated...

1. Birth & Childhood - commemorates the cabin where he was born to poor parents.

2. Formative Years - shows him seated on a log reading his way to adulthood.

3. Professional Life - shows him standing outside the Illinois capitol building.

4. Presidency - shows the unfinished U.S. capitol dome - which was finished during his presidency.

OK, I see. Thanks for straightening me out guys.
I can also see they would probably go in the folder in the order you have outlined.

At first I thought maybe the different finish issue as you posted eaglefoot.
Rest in Peace

Actually, more than a different finish, it was a different material on the cents in the uncirculated sets, so you potentially have P mint zinc, P mint copper, D mint zinc, D mint copper, and S mint copper for each design, for a total of 20 different 2009 cents.

Yes, but all satin finish were copper and all business strikes were zinc. If you look at eaglfoot's post, he still accounted for all twenty varieties.

Yes, I was just emphasizing that it was more than just a different finish, it was an entirely different material.

Yeah, now that I re-read this, I see your intent.

Move along, nothing to see here.
