The obverse looks VF25. The reverse was likely weak off the dies but is no better than F12. She's a toughie to call VF with that reverse and the scratch on the eagles breast seals the deal. F15 overall.

Unbalanced wear, then? That would make it ineligible for the Set - we want "classic" examples for easy grading. While I await more opinions, I'll prepare a second coin to post here.

Yes this is a strange coin the obverse looks nearly VF-35 but the reverse is VG-10 territory. I suspect a TPG would give the Obverse more weight and net him out at VF-20 or so but it isn't the best example for "easy grading"

I'd agree with Canadian Banknotes.

I'm actually leaning toward VF25 Details on this one Super. Looks maybe to have been cleaned at one time.

agree? to which coin?...the first one is cleaned...Yes such a difference between OBV and RVS, but cleaned or whipped....Obvious from the first photo.. are they the same coin? I am a doubting Thomas. that such wear differences would be on the same coin....

The second one looks good at VF20 for both surfaces.

OK, I had a boo-boo. As you guys so astutely noticed, the obverse and reverse of the first coin don't really go together. I mean that - they don't really go together.Have a second look at the first set, which is the actual coin. I'm going to post the other pair of socks, so to speak, in another thread.
