Just bought a box of 2010 shotgun rolls from the bank, are these truly uncirculated mint rolls or are they only available directly from the mint? Is there any premium for these or any potential for a premium? Now that I have $25 worth how many should I keep?

They had a premium when they first came out. I believe they sold for about $50 plus shipping of $15 when they first came out. There is not a market for those anymore now.

I asked for 2010 specifically, I am would like to keep a few uncirculated rolls for my son. I also really like the new design. I think it is a throw back to when coins were made to be artsy pieces. To many coins these days seem to have very little thought put into the design. Its like they have a list of presidents and monuments and which ever one the dart hits that's what goes on the coin. Bring me back to the days of the merc dime and the Peace dollar, when coins had class.

1. If a coin does not have wear, it is uncirculated. Your rolls are uncirculated, and are worth a premium.

2. The coins that the mint sells are EXACTLY the same as the ones you have. They just cost more because of the paper they are wrapped in.

3. There IS a market for 2010 cents, and there will be well into the future. Just because the premium is low right now doesn't mean people won't pay over face value for them.

4. If you are a typical collector, a roll or two should do ya. No need to keep a whole box.
