Sounds like a bunch of fun. You have $100 per coin to spend, right?

Im planing to go very slowly with this and yes hopefully I can work that hard to get 100 dolla and more since each coin cost between 160 to 185 in vf except the 1911d which is around 1100 in vf so ya...

For prices, if you're going by the RedBook then they're off a bit. For the common date gold coins, it's going by melt at the time of printing which was $560 or so. Most dealers will have them for better than VF for roughly $200 or so dollars, give or take a bit. If you've got the patience and the money, then go for it. It'll take a long time if you're like me and have a rather shoestring budget.

Good luck! I think that the Indian head gold coins are some of the nicest coins the mint ever turned out.

Prices too will depend upon the Gold market as well so you might want to keep that in mind. Like fengk said the RedBook does not reflect the daily fluctuations in the metals markets that also apply to coins.

Boy! I'll say it's amazing. What country did you say this Gold Indian Head coin was from. I don't seem to be able to find it in any of my books. Are they something new just now being minted?

It appears you transposed Quarter Eagle to .25 which should .50 or $2.50. I believe that's what OldDan is pointing out. Good luck with your new speciality and please make sure you buy only from reputable dealers that you trust.

1908 to 1929. I think you can do it. The 1911D will probably go for a little higher than book value because of the low mintage. You may want to do some research to see what they are selling for.

Good luck on your adventure! I collected Indian QE's for many years. I think they are undervalued based on their relatively low mintage's. You may have to spend a bit more than your estimate however. Mike
