Hey guys, just scanned this coin, and looks like a 1L. I dont know much about vams, but is this a rare VAM, or common? Also, any idea of the grade of this coin, it has great cartwheel luster that doesn't show in the scan, and I dont think it has been cleaned. anyway, take a look and any help would be great, Thanks!
Mike

The 1L does look good, I enlarged your photo, and can't see the required die scratches within the cotton bowls...check them to be sure...

1L it is, and a nice strong one to boot. Low AU-ish. More common than the "single line per denticle" VAM-1Y, but only a couple dozen or so are currently known. I suspect it'll end up R5-R6; I see a couple a year on ebay. This one is a definite "hold for the future" VAM - if the hobby ever takes off, it will be in high demand since the characteristic of the variety is so prominent.
