Quote: (now 8) Philly and 5 Denver dies Oops, got that backwards. It's 5 for Philly and 8 for Denver. So, there about a dozen known from 8 different dies?

Reminds me of the '83 DDR, only a few were known up until about last year, and I've seen at least a few (much higher grades) on ebay lately.

Scooby, in 1983 there were a bunch of them around here...they put it in the paper and they were popping up all over...I found two just in regular pocket change.The bank tellers were loading up too.

i have the discovery piece for die#2 on coneca site and I sold one that was raw about a year ago for $400 (i still have the discovery one) if you want to keep track

There are 7 dies for the Philadelphia coin (and a stage B for die #'s 1,2 and 4) Total Philly varieties:10
There are 10 dies for the Denver coin (no extra stages reported,yet)Total Denver varieties:10
