First reported DDO for the 1950-s dime. Should be up on the CONECA list soon. Big thanks to Mike Ellis and James Wiles for the help and confirmations.

First off, nice find.
Maybe the following should be in a separate post
but a few may see it here.
I was curious as to how Anacs knows the die stage as well
as die state of this coin if there are not any others to compare it to ?
Have all the roo's. dies been studied and cataloged already ?

You can tell how worn a die is by examining the coin independent of any other coins from the same die. Just look for metal flow lines, chips, cracks, clashes, abrasion lines and other signs of die use. Flow lines, in particular, follow a steady and regular progression as a die wears.

Wow! That is awesome to have it listed on the slab like that too!

Too bad they couldn't list your name on it for the discovery.

Thanks everyone, I'll try to "borrow" my good camera back from my daughter tonight and get some better pictures. Basic light/medium doubling of "IGWT", initials, date and lighter doubling of "Liberty"

Super Find! That's a keeper for life; you have made a mark in numismatic history. Who knows; over the years only a few of these might show up and for you to have the original first find, that's something to crow about.

Indeed ... tremendous evidence that dedicated variety hunters can continue to make new discoveries ...

Great find after 72 years of no reports.
