This is the first coin I took out of a uncirculated roll.

There seems to be a second eyelid seperated to the south. What do you guys think?

Also, I want to know what is causing the rim to be angled into the coin to such a degree that it seems to be causing metal flow between the two.

I can post more photos if any of you think this is pursuing.

Thanks!

The eye area is more of a heavy die flow going on such is what you see on VLDS coins. The area between the E & T on WE TRUST is coin contact on the rim from circulation. On this year (1968) the design on the outside rim is common to see the letters touching it or on it. Just the way it happened this year.

coop, thanks. As for the rim, I was noting how the edge of the planchet is beveled toward the obverse. It is worst around where I took the picture, and evens out in both directions. If I'm not mistaken, you are talking about the contact marks on the face of the rim.

And after taking another look, it seems like a misaligned die. Pics incoming...

Sorry about the camera work, the Celestron was a bad move even with the lights blocked out.

And I see the metal flow in the face there of Lincoln, but want to make sure we are looking at the same spot. I should have done this before, sorry.

These are just die flow lines. The angle should be turned up to be parallel to the eye lid if it were a doubled eyelid.
