The Sacagawea coin series from 2000 to 2009 and now the Native American coins I believe are underrated and not heavily collected. The nice thing about the Native American reverse design will change yearly and that should add some pop to the coins.

And it seems like they are circulating the new ones as it is easy to get the 2009, uncommon to get 2010, EXTREMELY common to get 2000 and extremely rare to get anything in between (with a few 2001 here and there). I like that they are doing that and its even better cause they are going into circulation now.

The Mint is trying to be a proponent of $1 coin and that is why use the 2010 coins. You can buy a bag of them at cost from the Mint, I think 250 for $250, trying to have them get circulated. A paper dollar exists for approximately 5-6 years while a coin can last 20-50 years or more.

Thanks for the spelling of the words and letters I could not see.I have a problem with the dates on the side of any coin, sure makes it hard to read them especially in the OGP holders.
Sag is one of my favorites right from the start,it is a shame she or the presidents are not more in circulation, some folks and kids out there probably don't even know they exist.I'm betting the ones circulating get snatched up in no time at all. gasman96

I agree as well. There was no reason to move the date and I am still not sure exactly why they felt it was necessary.

Not really new, since they had it for the Presidential dollars already.

The only logical reason would be for making the minting of all baby dollars a uniform process. Then again, it is still different between the business strikes (where the edge is applied after striking) and proof (where the edge is applied at the same time).
