Not the prettiest thing in the world - but a hole filler until I want to shell out the money for a nicer one :) I got it for $60.. The scratches dont look nearly as bad in hand as in the picture.. but they are definitely there. What do you think the net grade would be? I've been having second thoughts on this one.. Would you have stayed away?

I personally would not have purchased this coin for any price. Too many issues. But then again I'm a snob. If you like it, great! As for grade, I'd give it G6, although I'm not experienced at looking at this particular type. I'm sure there are plenty of early copper pros on here that can give a definitive answer.

60 sounds about right. Guessing here...S-230 R-2 in G. No expert though. Let's see if I'm close when the experts arrive.

Ignoring the defects, I'd grade it VG details. How much it's worth? No idea.

Looks to be an S-230. I can deal more with the corrosion than the scratches. On this one, I would have avoided. It does have pretty nice underlying detail though, nice for a G6.

S-237 is what the seller attributed it as.

I would have thought VG details too considering the nice bold date and hair detail. I like it!

I am not surprised at all that the scratches were greatly exaggerated by the picture, I have had this problem before. I would grade the coin VG+ for detail.
