First thought is indeed struck through a capped die. Great find indeed! Second thought ... are you sure it is a 1999 BadThad? .... because then it becomes a dancing fruit WAM as well. Only giving away one fruit until confirmation of the date. David

it definately looks like a WAM to me, and a capped die 1999 WAM or even a 1998 would mean substantianal dollars

Hummm....I'm dumb! LOL I didn't even think of checking for a WAM. I think I'm going to have to refer to the experts on this one. In hand, it looks like the bit of the last digit visible is a 9....as best as I can tell. I compared it closely with a 92 and the tip of digit seems to curl around more like a 9 than a 2. If someone can't tell from my pics (best I can do), I might have to mail this to someone that can tell.

Could it be a 3? I'm also seeing an "s" mintmark in the top photo of the second set that was posted. That might explain the WAM...if it were a proof coin eh? Then again it simply could just be my old tired eyes playing tricks on me...

Nah, definately not a 3 and not a proof. The planchet would reveal if it was proof. There's luster on both sides though, the reverse cartwheels.

Quote:a capped die 1999 WAM or even a 1998 would mean substantianal dollars I don't know if that would help or hurt the value. Good question. Wish I could help BadThad, but I just can't tell the date either. I thought you were being sneaky to see if we would notice the WAM or not.

The proof 1993-S cent would be a Close AM. All 1993 cents were Close AM this one year.

Sure don't know how you would confirm it but I see a 1999. Man, a capped died 1999 WAM. No telling what that would be worth. What would you think of.......say.......$30. PayPal OK? LOL Jim

It look's like a 92 to me. Also don't notice the reverse die markers for most 99 Wide AM's.
