The obverse is normal, but the reverse has some interesting features.

The two L's in dollar are missing, and all the letters clockwise from D in dollar to ES in States are dramaticially doubled under a loupe.

I posted a photo that begins to show the problems.

Is this collectable? Valuable? How does something like this occur?

It is a 1994 D.

I agree with the Struck Through Grease on the L's, but is the line next to the D in United part of the coin, or just something on the coin when you took the photo ? I do see the doubling, but I am thinking MD by the looks on this photo.

The line looks like a scratch from circulation. The doubling is much more clear through a magnifier than can be seen in this photo.
