I just ordered a few things online from them for the first time and was wondering what others feel about their service? Appearance wise it looks like a good place to buy all kinds of items I may want.

I buy quite a few coins from them, there service is fairly good, I find there shipping somewhat expensive, they do send you a confirmation no. after you have ordered which helps.

Sorry.. Corrupted, where are my manners..

Welcome to the Forum.

What other online Canadian based shops have good reputation that I can consider using? I am not looking for overly expensive coins, mostly to fill spots now and again, or something that catches my eye.

I've ordered from Colonial Acres a number of times and always had a great experience. Their service & quality is really good although ship time can take up to 2 weeks.

Their shipping is $6.50 no matter how much you order so for a small order it's high but for a larger order its not bad! Somehow I always find myself with large orders from then anyway :) I Wonder why that keeps happening!

Welcome to the Forum.

There are three stores that I deal with. One being Colonial Acres coins, J & M Coins and Gatewest Coins. I have found their service and products are very good. I know I have phoned in orders for hard to find products and they usually come through, and when that happens, I am not concerned with postage rate, just get it to me please.

They're awesome, for service. My first purchase they sent a coin without COA. The shipped me a replacement before I even returned the first one.

I know I am going to get myself in trouble now. Having such easy access to so many coin and paper options. Oh boy! Hope the wife doesn't look at my VISA bill next month. Thanks for the help everyone.

I have never had a problem with their service. If you are buying less expensive items it pays to buy more than one at a time, as they will ship as many items as will fit in the Priority Post envelope for the same price.

On occasion, I've paid extra for the rush service, and they sent it out the next day.

My only complaint about Colonial Acres is the slow shipping. I buy quite frequently from 'em and on several occasions the shipping was appr. 10-14 days long after payment made.
However their selection of available Key date coins are second to none. As a matter of fact, just recently I purchased the following two from C.A.:
>I.C.C.S., 1891, quarter, AU-58
>I.C.C.S., 1908, dime, MS-65

I have used Colonial Acres for years to buy individual coins, mint rolls and coin supplies. They have always been great. Yes shipping is a little solw (2 weeks or so). Recently, I have purchased rolls from Gatewest Coins and have found prices, service and shipping time similar. I have never tried J&M.

I like both Colonial acres and Gatewest coins, I think they're as fair as you will find.

I bought some supplies from Colonial Acres last month, and it took 2 weeks for them to ship so I didn't get my order until 3 weeks after I ordered it. Other than that, no complaints.

Colonial Coins is who I turn to for all my coin needs - supplies, books and of course coins. I've dealt with them for over 10 years and never had a problem. Service is absolutely the greatest.
