Here is one questionable listing IMO...

http://cgi.ebay.com/1945-Silver-Dol...em19c2e816bd

I'm not sure how this could be certified VF-EF....in a 2 x 2 holder.....Maybe some one can explain..

Case in point it is really up to the buyer to know what you are buying...

Yes.. I would like to know too...

How can it be graded by ICCS and only be in a 2x2 cardboard holder, something wrong with this listing..

I e-mailed them, and told them they had a 1945 Canada silver dollar in their 2x2 that said it was graded by ICCS.

The lady e-mailed back and said, there was an error in the listing, it was purchased yesterday, she was going to send the buyer an e-mail letting them know there was a mistake.

She also thanked me for bringing this to their attention..

My coin dealer is Sean Issacs at Alliance Coin and Bank Note in Almonte Ontario. I have been dealing with him for 20 years. Fair pricing and honest service.

Hello Everyone:

Thanks to all of you who posted positive compliments, it is always nice to know our customers are satisfied with our business.

In regards to the shipping times and rates. We strive to get all orders shipped out in a timely manner. However we are often at the mercy of the Mint and our suppliers. We gennerally post "pre-order" and or email customers if there is an unexpected delay with an item or an order.
Due to our large volume of orders we receive all orders go through a set picking, verification, billing, & shipping process. We treat al orders on a first come basis. So for the order where it is just one simple coin, please understand the 50-100 other orders that came in before yours are tended to first.
In regards to shipping rates, We ship almost all orders with tracking numbers via Express Post and expidited Post. The money we collect for shipping $6.50-8.00 generally does not cover the cost of these services. Keep in mind we are not including the supplies we purchase to pack our orders. Shipping is a lost leader for us at this moment in time. (Many of you who sell on ebay or other places can relate to the costs of shipping bulky or heavy items)

As always we strive for positive customer experiences. For any questions, concerns, or suggestions please feel free to call or email us at anytime and we will be glad to help you out.

sincerely,
-Colonial Acres Coins

I bought from colonial acres every month, couldn't be happier. I noticed their shipping is much faster and uses less tape than before

CA...I have dealt with CA many times, I feel I should have shares sometimes! Experiences have always been positive. Their supplies are cheaper than I have been able to find anywhere else online. Also have dealt with Shawn at Alliance as mentioned. Gatewest was also a great experience. Again all positive experiences. IMO, no matter who you deal with, sometimes lead times can be long.

Never had a big problem with them. The usual slow shipping that others have mentioned. If I don't get a shipping notification after a week I give them a ring and it's usually sent out the next day or so. Also that you can't combine shipping between website orders and ebay orders (they run them as 'separate' businesses) or add an item to an order that hasn't been shipped yet. I've had a couple of problems with not getting everything I ordered but they were all fixed no fuss. I've bought some coins from them. Their monthly sales can be decent for prices but with a bit of patience I can usually get what I want off ebay cheaper; particularly if I can get it without the HST.

Yeah... I agree kuh_85, the HST kills us here in Nova Scotia, 15%, makes your purchase with the shipping almost not worth bothering with.

I've done well with Colonial Acres and I'm very happy with the service. I find that 2 weeks from order date to my front door isn't to bad. I've made plenty of purchases from ebay that have taken longer. I would hardly call this a problem, so the only 'issue' I've ever had with them was an incorrect order on my last purchase. They missed two proof-like sets I ordered. Sent them an email, they responded within 12 hours and three days later I had the missing proof-like sets.

The only black eye with this merchant is that a couple of years ago, they tried to sell on ebay (as a CAND dealer) a known (marked as counterfeit) made-in-China Canadian Victorian 25-cent counterfeit coin. Very much illegal and many of us who spent years fighting the Chinese counterfeits were very annoyed at this merchant, and CAND in general...

I've brought 3 times from them this month and it has been a great experience. I agree with the slow process time for shipping but the shipping fee is more than generous. One bad thing about Colonial Acres is their check out system. If for some reason that you changed your mind and such, your order still going through. You have to call them to cancel the order.

I also heard good stuff about J&M but I find their website very difficult to navigate. Hard to find what I want on there. I've brought from Gatewest as well and they are pretty good as well.
