Hey guys the time has come to sell my childhood off piece by piece. First my transformers and Gobots . My wife don't want to see umn setting around anymore. I am selling my coins. I will prob use the money from my 2 books 09-40 and 41-58 to secretly buy one or two nice BU high grade MS LWC that I can stash somewhere but lets not tell her I'm still gonna keep roll hunting in change but sell off the ones I gathered back in 85-88 during my brief childhood coin hobby That is my LWC books. what is a fair market value for the 09-40 book? They are now listed on ebay BUT I have a reserve that can be adjusted higher or later during the auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...RK:MESELX:IT1909 v.d.b 1909 1911 1912-d 1913 1914 1915-d 1916 1916-s 1917 1917-s 1918-d 1918-s 1919-d 1919-s 1921 1023 1924 1925 1925-d 1925-s 1926 1926-d 1927 1927-s 1928 1928-s (large S) 1929-D 1929-S 1930 1930-D 1930-S 1931 1933-D 1934 1934-D 1935 1935-D 1935-S 1936 1936-D 1936-S 1937 1937-D 1937-S 1938 1938-D 1938-S 1939 1939-D 1940 1940-D 1940-S Pics of each coin are in the links/ad photo album , the reverse of each coins matches the obverse as for the grade. I'll working on taking reverse pics when I finish it all add them also. Any opinions LMK Edited by coppertop5150 02/07/2011 5:06 pm

I'll wait for the reverse photos. Those books can do some nasty things to coins.

Lol no prob scoob,
This books were stored at my moms house from 1988 to late 2011 in a dry air conditioned closet. When I pulled them out they all look really nice, some reverses actually looks nicer with more luster being they were not exposed to the air like the obverses
The only coins that were added are the 12-d that one was found a few months ago roll searching.
Im taking pics and will have them up tonight.

Well the greysheet is listing BU 1934-58 set at 280.00 ASK. That is not including 55/55 or anything before 34. I would start there and knock off for condition and add for the pre 34.

Your wife doesn't want to see them sitting around anymore?!! Selling off your childhood?!! How much room does that folder really take up? Put it in one of your drawers under your socks or underwear. That way she doesn't have to look at it. If this is your only cent collection I would think you will regret getting rid of it. Selling off 53 LWC cause she doesn't want to see them just doesn't make sense to me. Just my opinion.

LOL torn. What happened was my mom down sized moved into a new house she cant store my stuff anymore I had a LARGE closet full of my stuff to remove from her house to store at my house. Surfboard , skateboard, transformers and go bots over 100 of them robot toys , 300 match box cars, 10 radio control cars Some old comic books coins, Camping gear boyscout junk ,My coins. Here in the computer room it's stacked with stuff , my stuff her stuff Im selling off my LWC 09-40 partial complete book and my 41-58 complete book ( that auction is next to come ) along with some forgien coins her father left us after he died a few weeks ago. I am KEEPING coins. My flying eagle , my large cents , some pre 30 XF+ LWC's some dollars and so on that I feel will be going up in value with age My goal is to sell these books , my transformers , surfboards and other stuff then start the 09-40 book all over but in XF+ red/brown grades and the 41-58 in red BU This book is a good STARTER book for a person just getting into collectig but they are not all high graded some better then others, except the 39-d its prob high AU maybe MS but I have 2 of them so ones staying in the folder and one i'll keep . I'm not knocking the books , they did their job and got me intrested in coins. I think I just want to go higher grades now to store away Thanks hoosier , we shall see I think upclose pics obverse and reverse will help alot !

Opinions? I really don't think you would take my suggestions. But just in case. Myself, I'd sit down with my wife and have a really serious discussion about this. I know if it's a necessity for money, that is one thing but just because someone does't like what you might like, ? Of course if you really don't care for coins, then too it is really not even worth a possible argument that might start something bigger.

I don't think you completely understand here...
I believe what Carl may be leading to - and I saw it immediately too in your first post - is that there is likely a much bigger problem going on here that you might benefit from heeding and trying to solve with a heart to heart talk. My observations just from what I've seen in your posts:
1. Perhaps she needs a talk about accepting people for who they are and what they like. Just because she thinks Transformers are stupid toys doesn't give her ANY right to tell you they have to go. They belong to you - they are yours. I'm not saying this is what's happening, but it looks like this could be the case.
2. YOU need a talk about sneaking around without your wife's knowledge (regarding your post about buying BU coins and hiding them) buying things with which she does not agree. Regardless of her reason for not agreeing, if you buy coins and she doesn't want you to, you..YOU...are asking for marital problems.
So this IS really a case of you figuring out what's more important to you...I hope you think long and hard about it. I got rid of all my "junk" because of my wife back when I was in my 20s. That marriage lasted 6 years and I can never recover the stuff I tossed back then just for someone I'm no longer with. Just saying.
Just think about all this. Don't jump off the bridge just because she says so. A couple of small albums of pennies are not only not very valuable but don't take up much room. Best you save them and if the wife really dislikes it that much - tell her to take a hike. Really.

hey guys ,
After thinking it over with your guys input , I have decided to cancel the auction.
I apologize to any one that bid.
I am going to keep the books and eventually upgrade some of the coins as I go. Then once I have doubles i'll sell off or trade the ones that I replaced for the ones need.
Now that the auction is over and they are no longer forsale now can anyone anwser the question ? what are they worth ?

numismedia has a nice FMV chart you can look each one up individually....I can tell you I personally wouldn't go over a $20 bid just because I can find them all in circulation (and have done it).
