full-face or 3/4 portraits usually don't work on low-relief, modern coins.

Yes that is the right coin being offered on The Royal Mint....Like I said many Brits dislike it...someone said ...why is William on a coin with Janis Joplin...LOL...wonder how well it is selling

Good one!

I can totally understand the Janis Joplin comments. The depictions are really generic. Remove the legend and I doubt many would be able to correctly identify the subject.

None in Canada. Not even a pattern, as far I know, because they would have been waiting for the tooling from The Royal Mint.
Some of what were planned as circulation, but became patterns, leaked in the UK, I believe. No circulation. There is a holy grail specimen set.

Some colonies did release coins without a likeness, but with details EDWARD VIII REX ET IND:IMP. New Guinea used ERI (I believe that what it it is, meaning Edward Rex Imp, I presume).
