Just got a seek peek at the up coming coins from the RCM. The hot coins according to them show an image of prince William and one of prince Harry. Wow. In my very humble opinion some peoples images just should not be put on coins. .... sorry maybe this topic should be posted on the NCLT site?

RCM coins with William and Harry, or RCM selling RM? Maybe the RCM should do a Kate and William coin, and get it right. The Queen Mum tribute (2002) was extremely well received, and is one of the most valuable NCLT dollars ever released.

My personal opinion agrees with you North of 49. I think living people should not be on coins (except for the Queen, as that is how it works here). I think the RCM will do alright with selling the coin though. The royal family is still popular and sells. Do you have any pictures you could share?

The Will and Kate engagement coin was a disaster...says most Brits...but remember someday Will's image could be on our coinage if or when he becomes king

Sorry I don't have a pic to share, however I'm sure it will be avalible on the RCM site before long. the Images show the boys in a suit and tie. I think I wouldn't have found the coins so "off" had they appeared more regal. Dialog, I quite liked the Queen Mum coin. I can't put my finger on it but there is something a little cheesy about this pair of coins. But like I said before this is strictly an opinion.

After, Moose, Beaver, Dove (seagull) Rabbit, Horse (RCMP), Mackarel, Loon, Wolf, and more of Noah's crew... a few folks would be fine on Canadian Coinage..... EH

The RCM is just trying to market whatever they can......so too does the RAM. That's Mint business.

Some of their ideas lately have been questionable.

The US Mint is just a guilty. Some of the proof sets and mint sets now come with a STUPID amount of coins.

I saw this coin a few days ago and I must say, Prince Charles might not look half bad if/when he takes the throne. Could use a better haircut though.

I would have to offer the opinion that on business strikes it should only be the reigning monarch for the rest of the coins they put out I would say have at it

I think I agree. I do wonder though if there will come a time soon when our decimal coins start carrying the busts of old Prime Ministers. I remember a while ago someone (not in this forum) told me they thought Trudeau should have his face on our currency and since the bills were all taken he should either get the Twenty or one of the coins.
* Someone changed my avatar? Well whoever it was, thanks. It suits me I think. :)

remember when Prince Charles becomes king ...it is tradition to now face left on any coinage his image would appear..since the queen faces right.

I think his left side suits him better, as well as a gold coin.
