Hi all!

I bought this the other day. I usually don't buy medals or commemorative. This one really caught my eye though. I'm hoping one of you fine Canadians could help me out on the story of this one. Thanks for any help!

That was put out in 1953 for the Coronation when she became Queen

I'm guessing for something that important, there are probably quite a few of these out there?

I've seen them around, but I've never looked at the price.

This is the 1953 Coronation Medallion put out by the Royal Canadian Mint.

* I believe every schoolchild was given a bronze one.
* They were also minted in silver
* The 2002 Jubilee 50c piece specifically reused the portrait.
