Its a CC mintmark and its correct.... CC = Chinese counterfeit.

Hey folks, this thread got me curious about when Carson City was founded. According to Wikipedia, the year was 1858. The mint opened in 1870. 1844 is a far cry from those years ...

It's amazing how the Chinese keep discovering all these old U.S. coins that have never been seen in America. This is as bad as the "1824" Trade dollar with a date twice as large as normal that was on ebay in the past.

That is one of the main reasons it has 0 chance of being real, it having a Motto is another. This coin has absolutely zero going for it except the design is very close and could fool allot of people that aren't familiar with the series
