My grandmother gave this coin to my parents over a half century ago. At that time it was in a Sterling Silver coin holder-thingy and probably worn as a pendant or watch fob (but not worn for the last 50+ years, though). The face has some small dents, dings, or signs of wear. The eagle's chest is the only "shiny" (or worn slick) part of the coin and there are some long diagonal scratches above the eagle so I'm guessing it had contact with buttons or rough fabric. I don't know if any will be visible in the pictures. I'm having trouble with the resolution and sizing from scanner to software to CCF. I have a couple of books (suggested by this site) but just don't have the knowledge of condition to hazard a guess regarding grading. The dollar was in circulation at one time, and with the lack luster tarnish/toning, scratches, and the pitting in the arrow the eagle is holding; I wondered what kind of grade you all would give this silver dollar. Thanks for looking!

It's been cleaned. You can see the small scratches from the wiping across the fields. AU53 Details/Cleaned

Yup looks like EX condition but it's been cleaned and probably several times. It looks just like the one My wife's grandmother baked into her 16th bithday cake. And yes they used to do that in the Midwest and West.

Probably AU details. Luster removed by the cleaning. Figure the value would be in the VF area, great luck that it happens to be a CC!

Thank you all for the grades. I was very conservative in what I thought the coin's grade might be (because of its lack of luster and that it was in circulation before it became jewelry) so I'm pleasantly surprised. Aladinslamp is right about the scan to software color. I probably need to upgrade my video driver to get better photos. The coin is actually a dull grayish silver, not beige-ish! Thank you for the welcomes.
