Some of you may think I'm just full of it when I say stuff to the effect that I have half a million coins or that I have looked through over 2 million in my lifetime - each one under a microscope. Well, this evening I was messing around with some of my stuff and decided to photograph it and post it here. The following three trays are ALL die varieties that I have found over the past couple of years that need to be attributed and added to inventory. Laying on TOP only are all the 1909 DDOs and DDRs that I still have to identify - most of them are uncirculated. The bottom image is of ONLY my BOXES of 2009 cents. I have another 4 bags of them around here.

All told my inventory shows that I have close to 102,000 cents from 2009 alone. BTW, I just found another three 1909 DDR cents - all unc - that need identifying. They should all be on the website within a week. I'm going through putting together a large batch of inventory to add.

and I have 4,700 BU rolls of memorials in storage...that's another 235,000 coins. Lest we not forget the 35 bags of wheats I have...another 175,000 coins. And to tell the truth - I had no clue before taking inventory again a month ago.

I am not sure what to say. I would need a bigger house, otherwise, the wife will kick me out of the room.

Well, I guess if I never bought another one I could probably finish all of them in my own lifetime. Alas, this is just the second month of 2011 and already this year I have bought over 120,000 coins.
I am working on pearing down a lot of the quantity and going after quality. I am working toward a goal of 5,000 coins in active (database) inventory by the end of the year and I want at least 75% of it to be $10+ coins from 1909-1933 and major die varieties.
I am also going to work on getting my 'books' straight - the 3 ring binders full of the 'master set' - right now it sits at 7 binders. By the time I can complete getting everything in there that I have already, it will be close to 9 binders. That's 9 binders FULL of over 25 20-pocket pages, each pocket containing a coin. That would be...4,500 Lincoln cents in ONE set. Hmm...that's a lot of Lincoln cents for one set!

Believe me...less than 20% of all this is actually at my house. The rest is in the attic, garage, two storage units, and a relative's house in an extra bedroom there. I'm just about to move that stack of 2009 boxes - as soon as I get it all inventoried so I know exactly what's there.
I'll take a pic of the stuff in my garage soon. There's a LOT of stuff out there. The storage unit contains 13 200-gallon size strong boxes full of bags and rolls. I have well enough to keep me busy for a LONG time. Each of my strong boxes weighs about 250 pounds. At 33 pounds per 5000 count bag, an estimate in one of my units would be 490,000 coins.

The Hoarders folks have already been called - but because my toilets flush, my kitchen doesn't stink, and my dining room table is completely cleaned off all the time, they wouldn't come out and film.

I would think if you were going to hoard anything, money would be the weapon of choice!
