I am no expert on small size notes, but I would venture to say that it is not worth what you paid for it.

Sadly I have to agree with zee on this one. The serial does have a couple of things going for it though. First the eights are all in row and second the only other digit is a zero. Zeros don't really count at the beginning or end of a serial number. That note could be referred to as a near solid or a mini solid because of the zero.

Would make a very nice gift to Chinese friends. check fancy serials for comparative value.

For some reason 8's and some other combo of numbers command a high premium. Also a run of 7 digits uninterrupted (this is key) command decent premiums. And as Nick said a ZERO at the beginning or end is very forgiving.

Nice detective work Nick and Zee (looks like you 2 crossed).

after a detailed search I managed to find this

it's actually called "Seven-In-A-Row or Seven Same Ending set" see table under this heading. but it doesn't state it's worth. guess I will hv to keep it for a long time with me.

The number 8 is considered lucky by many Asians, especially the Chinese. The unlucky number is 4, sounds like "death", IIRC.

If you have a Chinese friend or favorite server, the money factory has a gift that won't break the bank:

For bigger spenders:

Just remember to enclose another $1, even amounts are considered unlucky.

Viper, much of value of that note depends on the planets and their relationship to the stars at any given time.... Today you could place your note in an auction and it might only realize $25.... Tomorrow, a different buyer might be willing to pay $600 for it..... the day after tomorrow, still another buyer will only offer $50..... There is no hard value to such a note..... only differences in the desires and affluence of those who view that note.

Isn't that a bit contradictory?

And yes zee, that is exactly what I have been trying to say. Another thing to keep in mind, a lot of people buy notes for the numbers. I have had more than 1 person contact me when they see a string of consecutive serials for sale and ask, "do you have the note with serial xxxxxx10 ?" for example. So a lot of that price fluctuation is that person who needs that serial to add to or complete a collection. Ceylon knows a lot about that sort of thing as he is more into it than I.

But That is why when you have told me a while back about my radar note that didn't sell "people live in the real world" I just smiled and re-listed it and it sold next time because that right person was looking that time.

For Asian, Zero in the front mean "got nothing", they want the 8888 in the front rather then in the end.
