Poll Question
Just wanted a consensus on which denomination was the most sensible and worthwhile to search and save.

This poll idea was taken from lincolncollector's post.

Now I'm curious also, Thanks

Poll Choices
 Pennies
 Nickels
 Dimes
 Quarters
 Halves
 Dollars

I haven't had the opportunity to search Halves (am anxious to get a box soon though), not so hot with cents, dimes, or Quarters really. With my small amount of roll searching that I have done, was best with Nickels. CWR yielded some great finds, including an entire roll of pre 60, I forget the earliest year in there as I already mixed with the rest of my Nickels but you get the point.

With cents you will find the most "stuff" includings wams and all the other stuff that ordinary folk don't know about. A decent amount of ordinary folks know about silver and will pull it.

It has been a while since that has been brought up.

Looking over the various roll-hunting threads, I say half dollars are best for profit, nickels are best for collectors building ( Jefferson nickel) sets, and cents are best for those seeking varieties. I also give honourable mention to the quarters for anyone building a Statehood Quarters set.

So the answer depends on the goal.

Right now, I'm searching Nickels like a crazy man......so I voted for those.
They produce some low mintage keepers.
They produce Silver War Nickels
They produce "V" Nickels or " Liberty nickels"
They produce Buffalo nickels

I always search Cents too, though, the Indian Heads, Wheats, and semi-keys, make these worthwhile as well.
I don't search for Wide AM's....... but it's still worth it.

Quarters, I do occasionally, like now, to get the ATB Quarters in BU.

Halves........ I'm on a long "break" from.

Dimes......I just don't do too often......little bit here and there.

I would have to go with nickels and cents. Nickels you find alot of WWIIs and buffalos and I keep all nickels 1959 and under. Then cents you find alot of wheaties and errors.

I'm not sure what the question is getting at...

The most worthwhile to search and save? What does this mean? Are you talking about looking for key dates? Completing sets? Resellable coins? Die varieties? Precious metal to sell? You answers are going to be based on interpretation because the question is definitely not clear.
