My questions were:
Has any Mint ever made a bi-metal coin using plated-steel technology?
Will there be another pliofilm uncirculated set in 2011 including plated-steel loonies and/or toonies?

I asked whether they planned on issuing test pieces for new composition $1 or $2 before general circulation (a la 1999p)

LOL. Oh no, people are asking us serious and important questions and not simply gushing over our products .... RUN AWAY!! Here's one: Was the $20 Ladbybug ever actually available for sale on the RCM site (or Canada Post outlets?) or did it simply launch sold out? |

I asked the mint rep on Facebook if there would be an Ottawa PL set to counter the crappy one we received from Winnipeg (not quite in those words, but that was the point).
I was informed sternly that "There is only ONE set per year and no more".
I laughed till I cried.

Actually it was available because it took me a few days to make up my mind... and finally my wife convinced me to order one. I'd say it was available for at least 2 weeks, then it sold out. It would have sold out faster had it not been limited to 1 per order / household. |
