In your opinion, which Lincoln Cent year would you collect, and why - 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011?

2008 - last year of Memorial reverse.
2009 - LP1, LP2, LP3, and LP4.
2010 - first year of union shield reverse.
2011 - second year of union shield reverse.

I have more of the first year Shield. To me, the first year design is most collectible.

I agree I would collect all of them in uncirculated condition if you can get them.

I could mention that the last year of the Wheats (1958) wasn't a special year, and the first year of the Memorial reverse (1959) wasn't special either.
So, does that apply to the recent changes to the cent?

LP4 after reading about Coppercoins paying $2 a roll I called 2 local shops and asked what they were selling them for. one wanted $10 and the other offered me his last pair of mint wrapper P&D for $10. I passed on both instead I put a 1970 mint set on layaway
it has the small s in it

I do have several US Mint boxes of the 2009's from each design. I have a few 2010 BU(?) rolls from bank rolls, I think I also have US Mint 2008 rolls because it was the last year of the Memorial reverse. I guess the 2011's won't command a premium like the 2010's.

Did you mean which would one "hoard" or which one would "collect".....

I "collect" all of the choices listed in the best condition I could acquire them in.

2009- (all versions) and the 2010 Shield were the most "interesting" for me in quite some time with Lincolns.

I "collected" them with covering all bases offered by the Mint.
Business Strikes, Satin Strikes, Proofs, Two Roll Sets, and even the Lincoln C&C Sets.

I had boxes of the 2010 Shields more than once....but I just took them down to the coin shop for a $5.00 profit. Too much "bulk" for me.

I meant collect, and/or, hoard. Whichever you choose to do.

It seems to me the 2009's and 2010's would be the most collectible of the years that I listed at the top of my post.
Back in 2008, I was sure that those would be on everyone's list. But now, I don't know.

2009 because it was a 1 year design, mostly the lp4 because of low mintage. also, I think great condition 2010 cents would be a good one to save. almost every 2010 I get has spots so I think non spotted ones in high ms condition will have a future premium. just opinion. nothing special about 2008 or 2011 though.

I collected all...the problem is, so did everyone else. And there were billions minted each of those years so I don't think any will ever command a large premium because of rarity. Meaning that everyone that wants one can easily get one. If your question is more of asking which year is the most collectible, I would say 2009 because of all the different 1 time, single year designs coupled with the lower mintages for each design.
