I dunno. Not really a Jeff guy. I see a MAD. What did you see that made you post it?

All I see is a slightly mis-aligned die (MAD). I don't see any doubling, it could just be the lighting playing tricks.

Well, the obvious is all " I " saw, (the MAD) and all I still continue to see.....but I'm no expert.

And so my original questions still persist.....even if all this is, is a very slight MAD......do I pitch it back ? .....very common ? ..... no big deal whatsoever ?
I really just don't know.

Ehh, I still see the DD, just pull up a large file of any Jefferson Bust of the recent years and compare it. Oh I see the mis-alignment also, I'll trade you a dime for it! (If you decide to throw it hahaha jk) Keep it though

I wonder if the lighting/pictures are that big of a reason that it looks DD'd to me? I actually came across 1 or 2 99-D's that are simply a well struck piece, but they don't necessarily exhibit the same features yours do. As in they might if I tried to replicate your photo and lighting with my own.

A couple of points...

1. When posting coins with questions, PLEASE ask the question and be detailed. We don't know what you are looking at, so point it out.

2. This is a slightly misaligned die, but examples this slight are common. This does not add to the value or collectibility of the coin.

3. The images of this coin are clear enough that I can say with 100% confidence that there is NO doubling on this coin. I have no idea what the others are seeing that make them think this is anything other than a completely normal coin with a slight misalignment.

LOL@ Copper, there are no 'others' who see the doubling, there is just me who sees it. I also explained it pretty clearly why it looks that way, and also mentioned I could probably replicate it with the lighting. It's pretty easy to understand.
