This gimmicky stuff sometimes starts big, but 90% of the time is less than issue price within 5 years of issue. The big moneymaker? The gubmint.

Yes, seems clear they are going to offer a special Loonie and special Toonie specimen set, going forward. At least that allows the specimen collector to be able to obtain the normal designs in specimen too.
