I just opened a String & Son box of Jeffersons....... A little closer look reveals a roll end showing a Jefferson with a large P over Monticello !! Hope this means more than just ONE Silver !

hmm... any 2009's on any ends? That might be a cooler find to me at this point. I live in Missouri and I have still not found a 2009 P or D Jefferson nickel. It's getting a little annoying being as how those are the only 2 nickels I need in that particular h.e harris folder.

I've found a few war nick enders in my time, like three or four. One box had five, another had three, the others, just one. Do any of the other ends have enders?
Know what's even better? Buffalo enders. :)

I'm still looking for 2009's and of anything. Few of those and even less 2010's. Let us know if you find any 1950S's in there.

Quote:I live in Missouri and I have still not found a 2009 P or D Jefferson nickel. KoinKid..... You just have to search A LOT OF NICKEL BOXES ! .... I have found one 2009 "D" mint in this box so far. In total, I almost have a full coin tube of '09 D's.....the P's on the other hand, I have like 4 extra now (outside folders & albums) These are nearly impossible to find for me, despite my exhaustive searching (several boxes a week recently!) I know they're mintage is lower, but it's not THAT much lower, so it's just "logistically" I think, being west of the Mississippi river..... no P's come here usually for some time......then they're a little rough lookin' when they finally do show up. So, I'd say you just need to dig in like a mad man and search the heck out of them....you'll start poppin' on some '09 D mints at least.

The box total was just two Silver War Nickels (which I'm fine with !) Both were 1943 P's. No Buffs.... Plenty of "Pre--59" Jeffs....no semi-keys......no keys In fact, I find SO MANY Pre-'59's all the time, that I'm in the process of making a coin tube of each year and mintmark, from '38 onward. But once I have a coin tube filled with the more common dates.......I'm just going to start pitchin back those. I don't need or want THAT much inventory of the Jefferson nickel ! (Of course, I'll still always save any BU ones I come across though ! ..... )
