Attached are some pics (Some pics are duped as I took them under different lighting) and would appreciate any insights.

The 2 best pics are from the seller. But the reverse pic does not capture the detail as well as the obverse.

The lip clash has no counter clash that I can see. (Polished away?)

Clash at neck and back of hair do have counter clashes that are visible (faint).

Also there seems to be a die chip (raised surface) at the back corner junction of hair V. (red box)

Thanks

Ceylon62,

From my current location I can't access VAMWorld. There is a technique I use when attributing clashed die Morgans. Check the 83-O pages and just focus on the clashed die listings. Look at the obverse photo and compare the location of the wing clash on the neck. That location is unique to the die and I've seen it anywhere from left of the jaw/neck junction to almost half-way down the neck. Yours is slightly left of the neck jaw junction.

The clash marks themselves will not be listable for a VAM. They are very common. The rotation of the clash episode is such that letter transfer is unlikely.

So you are left with attributing the coin by brute force. I would suggest you look at the VAM-17 listing.

I looked over my boxes and I do not have that one. I have 65 out at pcgs and it could be in them. I am sure I have seen this before.

I believe Vamsformoney is correct, the rotation of the clashing in its present state, would be between letters and not seen, possibly there may be a letter clash in the hair V...it would take a close up photo to tell....

Thanks folks.

I will try and see in I can get a better pic of the Hair V and Left wing top. There is something below N G going on (very very faint). The N G area could very well could be dirt / scratch on slab and or coin. I just don't know and will stay with 17 for the time being.
