Had this nickel here before. Now that I've invested in loupes & camera I'm seeing things I never noticed. It looks like a seam runs around the edge of the coin. The O & D of God shows some doubling. Five cents & USA shows doubling. If this is two coins put together, what's to gain?

i remember using a loupe for the first time . for me the magnification just opened up a whole new world for me.in this new world many, many, many things appeared as odd and unusual and of course to me they were.again when I first started using a digital microscope with even more magnification the same thing happened.all this being said and even though your pictures are great;* they only lack in size and or magnification for me to see the doubling effect's do see the rim ; that is correct*look at more nickels that are in good condition(at least the outer edge)bear in mind a pair of dies are used to produce the coin one for top top one for the bottom perhaps leaving the (seam) line around the middle; some times it is stronger and easier to see.i'am still holding on to some coins that I'm not sure of what they are or are not.waiting to gain the experience and knowledge to be sure not let 'em go to soon...
