would this be doubling? I only see it in the 0 of 1970, a little on the 7, but could be MD there?

MD. Very good photography, though.

The doubled dies for this year is a lot more subtle than you coin:

Your coin looks like circulation damage with a little Machine Doubling. Worst of both worlds. Sorry

Image is cropped in way too close to be able to determine anything.

If you are talking about the 'split' ridge line on the zero - that's simple coin wear...nothing else.

Tershaffer, let me just add this, hope it helps. Do you see what appears to be the top or primary impression in your 0? Do you see how thin that width is? Now, look at the top or primary impression in the 0 on Coop's DDO. Do you see how that thickness is fully-intact? In MD, typically, part of that top or primary impression will be "borrowed from" to form the bottom or secondary impression in the direction of the slip or skip of the die. Just look for top or primary impressions that are fully-intact. When they're not, strongly suspect MD.

I actually believe this to be simple yet uneven wear. If you take a bump and scrape the top of it down flat, you will end up with a ridge line in an unexpected place. That's what I think this is. I don't see enough of it to be sure, but it does not appear to be Machine Doubling.

Coppercoins, IMHO, that could very well indeed be the case. Absolutely.
