I am down to needing only 8 coins for it to be complete. Although the last 8 are gonna cost me, LOL.

Still need the 49-S, 50-P, 51-S and 52-S. I'm missing the first four proofs. 50, 51, 52 and 53.

First let me say I am working on getting pics up and will have some posted as soon as possible.

This set has been really fun, other than I changed my mind about how I was going to approach it about 5 times, LOL.

Every coin in the set, obviously except the ones I am missing, and a couple that need to be upgraded are MS-63 or better. Over half if not more were cracked out of PCGS, NGC, or Anacs holders. I would say the proofs are PR-64 or better. Many of these were crack-outs as well.

I'm finally coming down the home stretch with the set. Of course I'll always be upgrading it. But then that's the fun of it.

I too am almost done with my dansco franklin set. I try not to be picky and even if the franklin is circulated, it goes in the album. However I was able to get a majority of them in uncirc for melt so out goes the uncirc. However a few like the 53s in uncirc won't sell for melt so that is one I will settle for in circulated condition.

I had pretty good luck with most of them. I paid a little more than melt for some, but others weren't much more than that. My 61 P & D I got at a coin show slabbed by NGC as MS64, paid $32 for the pair.

The proofs are a different story though, LOL. If I can get the 50 and 51, the rest are downhill from there. LOL

I have had a full set of franklyns from circulated to unc but recently I have been focused on the proofs, and as you have said the early ones are elusive and expensive.

Well done!

I do not recall you ever saying before, but how are you storing them? Dansco album? AirTites?

I almost put that in there just for you, but did not want to deny you the opportunity to say something about it.

Very nice!

How about some pictures? They do not have to be pretty (just look at my 7070 photos). Just saying.

Thats awesome Dkillett! How long have you been collecting Franklins? I just finished my Dansco Kennedy half dollar album! I'm thinking about starting on the Franklins next.

Been collecting on and off since 2000. Actually decided to do the Franklin set in mid 09. I already had several slabbed Franklin's and decided they would look much nicer in an album. I still have a ways to go as the 50 and 51 proofs are roughly 400-500 each depending on how nice they are. The 52 and 53 aren't cheap either.

I have really enjoyed working on the set.
