Is everyone overlooking the 1860 restrikes, which at least lists in numismedia as existing in ms66 rd?

I find it interesting that he sold a 09s LWC and got great FB.

Also interesting that he sold two coins, both of which are very difficult, both of which are in amazing red color, and both of which are in OTC Whitman holders though they'd justify being slobbed.

And always with miserable pix.

Probability of being fake? 99.9999% Hopefully, the buyers check the coins out while still covered by ebay's protection. It would be nice if the sellers would post nice clear pictures here.

The 1860 restrike was made from a broken obverse die and an incorrect (1820) reverse die and is noticeable with a one quick glance. Even with a blurry picture it would stand out as an 1860 restrike, which by the way are highly collectible. This coin is an obvious fake and looks completely wrong. It is a shame ebay won't let us warn bidders any more.

The Coin World holder alone should throw some red flags up. Scammers always use these to make it look legitimate. I would bet it's a gallery mint copy. $188, someone will learn the hard way.

numismedia has a 1860- 1804 restrike ms-66 for 4,500

I wonder if a restrike of the 1804 exist in ms-66 for them to have a price intheir guides?

Restrikes are easy to spot, and IMHO this item was not an 1860's era restrike.

On another note, if a few collectors are willing to pay $180 for a modern replica, maybe someone should start a priceguide for these copies!?
