Was going through several coins and came across this penny. On the front and rear of the penny there are numerous raised areas. On the front the d has several raised areas, one on the forehead of Lincoln and to the rear of the top portion of the ear. Also on the top where the word trust is are raised areas. On the rear of the penny around the words and the monument are alot of raised areas. My question is, is this the result of a greased filled die. Sorry about the scans but they do show enough as to what I am inquiring about. Thanks for any info.

That is caused by the copper plating being split during the striking process. At first it is just a gray area until the zinc starts to work after being exposed to air. The can raise, fall and even fall off a portion of an area where the plating split happens.
