I'm not saying that he has sold any at all outside of his ebay sale. I do know that many of us on this forum have contacted him and who knows how many others from ebay. We would have to be pretty naive to believe he didnt do a private deal or two outside of this auction with some ebay buyers. I do know that if I owned these coins, I would surely take one or two of the best ones and keep them for myself. So in saying that...2 for himself, 2 private deals outside of ebay = 4 sold, of his 6 that he had available. He may have one or two left if anyone is interested. Thats why I say you shouldnt be waiting for a MS66. Waiting to see the MS 66 listed in my opinion is a gamble that may not pay off. Waiting for this to unfold is fantastic drama!

Someone said this seller had 8 coins; only 2 listed so far on ebay. Maybe he is honest and he will follow ebay rules... Not selling outside of ebay? He only had 1 ms64, all other are ms65 or higher. So I think at least 1 ms66 is coming after current ms65 is sold r...9 wiil win these all based on POP, I GUESS his 8 coins are 1-64, 3-65 & 4-66

Yes, I spoke to him and he said he had 8 in total. 1 MS 64 which is sold, this ms 65 which is almost sold which brings us to 6. I can tell you with almost certainty that a MS 66 has been sold privately without being posted on ebay and R**9, the 2006 penny bandit did not get it. Thats a story for another day. I believe,if we are lucky,we might see one more come up on ebay from this guy.

WOW... Now I really like to see a ms66 listed on ebay; 'What If' a person paid $3200 off ebay for a ms66 and a ms66 on ebay sells for $2100 POP for ms66 is 33 which is higher than ms64 & ms65, so it is really hard to guess the price on the ms66.

Danlos says that he helped someone sell a MS 65 for $3250 a couple of months ago. I wonder how high this baby is going to go?

I'm pretty sure a hypothetical 66 on E-Bay (starting from zero) will currently go for way under $3250. When I want to downsize, remind me to hire Danloss as my realtor!

The key word that I mention is "says," whether there is truth there or not I have no idea. Then again not many people know much about this coin so we will see how this story unfolds.

A lot of collectors have zero interest in modern coins also.

This is not what I would call a rare coin and absolutely not worth what buyers are paying for right now.

So with 73 known cdcoinman, are you saying this coin is quite common? Please explain!

A coin is worth only what people are willing to pay for it. To the best of anyones knowledge, a MS 64 is worth $1225 and so far it looks like the MS 65 is worth at least $1675. That can't be disputed! If one person offered this amount I might agree it may not be worth it but when a crowd are willing to pay this price then that is what the coin is worth. Just my opinion.

The price is because the handful of collectors out there, who "have to have one", are bidding strongly. I find it odd that only mint state grades have been found/certified to date.

hey SPP-Ottawa, you wrote: ''After receiving three brand new 2006P 1c coins in change, at a Starbucks in Calgary, then I bought three mint rolls from the store.'' Did you open these 3 2006p rolls to see if they had any Non-Magnetic?
