I am looking for the scarce 2006P Canadian non-magnetic cent. Is anyone aware of a dealer or individual looking to sell one?

Hi Smallcentguy, I have a funny feeling that you will not get much response to your question. I just happen to have a ICCS MS65 2006P Non Magnetic penny and researched high and low for info on this penny to which I was shut down right across Canada. J&M in Vancouver have never seen one, same with Gateway in Winnipeg. Colonial Acres has never had or seen one. Steven Bromberg from Canadian Coin Currency hasnt come across any either.
Apparently there are about 35 or 45 ever found.
I was at the Torex Coin Show last month and was offered $900 from one of the dealers there. I turned him down though. My friend told me that I am crazy as he would have jumped all over the offer.
Too little is known about this penny at present and the trends are based on maybe one or two sales of these pennys way back in 2007 therefore my gut feeling says the trends are way off on this penny.

I too have a 2006P non magnetic - which I got in change. All my change goes into the piggy bank and when it's full I go through it looking and checking. Well that search was the greatest I have every had - 3 x 2006 magnetic, no mint mark and the 2006P non magnetic. I haven't had them graded yet but will this spring.

Wow! That is a incredible find kniceone! What condition do you think yours might be in if you did get it graded? Have you done much research on the coin?

Just to close the loop on this one, as I mentioned in another post under a generic title, there is now one of these listed on ebay. MS64, getting lots of bids eary in the auction. My search has happily already concluded so I am just watching with curiosity!

I will bravely (?) predict that it will crack $1,000. While it is only a variety, it is much rarer than many coins that sell for much more.....like say a 1948 dollar.
