alright brothers and maybe eve sisters to the north here in buffalo while roll searching I come across quite a bit of your funny money I have date sets of dimes and quarters from 1969-date I also have a nickel set from the late 50's back and a small cent set from 1920 to date (all I am missing here are the keys I think)
1) I dont really like the way 2x2's look because they aren't professional in my eyes so what is the classiest way to display my coins I have Dansco albums for my american coin sets but I can't find any canadian coin albums that look like them, all I can find is Gardmaster and Unimaster albums...are these safe? and if anyone has a picture of what their collection looks like in one of these 2 albums I would love to see them. ***I DON'T WANT TO USE A FOLDER*** I want to be able to see both sides of the coin and don't want the folders to damage the coins
I might work on making the 2X2's work but I would really like a real album rather then a homemade one
If someone really smart on canadian coinage can email me as well I would appreciate having someone wise to tell me the main varieties I would want to include in my 2x2 album or searches as I go! Thanks

I am American who collects Canadian coins also. What I use are Uni-Safe folders for Small cents 1920-date 5 Cents 1922-date 10 cents 1920-date 25 cents 1937-1999 25 cents 2000-date They are made of plastic with clear pockets you slide the coin into and can be viewed from both sides. The coins aren't in the open and the Uni-Safe folders are more like small albums for your coins, with plastic pages with the coin pockets. They're available on ebay and at other sites. There are Uni-Safe folders available for large cents, half dollars, Voyageur and Loonie dollars and also Toonies, but those I keep in 2X2's. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=un...0.m270.l1313

I use Uni-Safe for keeping my odds and ends and I use airtight capsules for my primary collection.
Example of odds and ends might be a few samples of varieties or something not perfect but nice enough to want to reference etc.. I have so much stuff though, a lot of it is still in rolls. I use a lot of 2x2 storage systems as well for things worth preserving but that I haven't gotten to.

could one of you guys show me some pics of the unimaster (unisafe) album how are the coins in them, is it just a slot on the top you drop the coin in? is there writing on the pages showing the dates? If it is just clear pages I might as well buy some more 2x2's, pages, and a nice looking D-ring binder Also another thing I might be interested in would be a canadian modern for american modern coin trade I am still under the amount of required posts for that though. In a few months maybe I can set something like that up that way I can build my half dollar canadian set (I have non of those yet)

I keep all my sets in 2x2's and they look great. They give you flexibility when new varieties are found. They key to making them look good is consistency. You must staple neatly with the same pattern. It is also important to write the info neatly with a quality pen. I use the Uniball Deluxe Micro. For my main Canadian collection I use the premium Unisafe padded binder that come with protective sleeves. They are a little bit pricer than binders from staple but are worth the extra money. If you want to use a Dansco Style album the closest thing would be the Whitman albums. The Unisafe products are all mid level products unlike the Dansco Albums. Why does Dansco not make albums for Canadian coins? If you Live in Buffalo it would be worth your while to come to the Toronto area to buy all you your albums at one so that you can actually see and hold them before you decide which way to go. Let me know if you are interested in some recommendations which stores offer good selections.
