In the past, I've been told I lacked the ability to focus on any one type of coin collecting (or currency for that matter) probably due to a little OCD....ok a lot of OCD.

Limiting myself to regular issue US coins and Currency is focused enough, isn't it?

Well, a little while back I started breaking my focus into filling an entire date range before moving on. First project was all regular issue US coins from 1950-1999. That was a lot of coins, but by far the easiest of the date ranges (you'd be surprised how hard it is to fill every denomination of 1955).

Once completed I decided my next project would be 1932-1949 due to the coin shortages of 32,33. Well, I'm about done! I've got one coin left (1933 D Wheat cent) before I've filled all dates, mints, and denoms from 1932-2006! That includes 1932 D & S Washington Qs. I've got a half dozen 1933D Wheats on my ebay watch list.

Next project: 1922-1931 (From past collecting, I'm only short 18 coins from this date range)

These calculations don't include bullion or Gold.....yet ASE's are almost done too....

wow, sounds like a great collection you have. I myself dont really focus on one type. I say I like the coins that catch my eye at the moment.

Hmm.. That does sound interesting

I might consider doing this myself.. I don't really care for commemoratives, tho...

Does your collection include proofs?

Although I do have some proofs (All Washington Proofs are complete), I've only done coins issued for circulation so far.

I got my 1933 D LWC! That completes all denominations, dates & MM from 1932-1949.

I'm not sure what I'll focus on next... Guess we'll see.

I'm not sure what your even talking about. I presently have well over 100 Whitman, Dansco and a few other Albums. In some instances like Mercury dimes, 12 Albums of those alone. I collect almost every denomination, year, mint, size, shape of US coins and mostly all at one time. I go to coin shows with a list I compiled for days and still buy anything I like list of no list. I really sell nothing wrong with being versitile. If I see a Large Cent I need or want or like, so what if I went looking for a Walking Liberty half. I'll buy the Cent. I thought everyone was like that.
