Can remember seeing drawings and reading about "coin cabinets" of 17/18/19th century numismatists.

Anybody seen one? Pictures?

Gatewest Coin in Winnipeg,MB has a really nice wooden cabinet as you enter the store, the front is glass obviously, there are several shelves inside with many 45 degree angled 2x2 square spots for you to display your coins that are in 2x2 holders. This is were they display many of their old large cents, old quarters, etc.

Interesting.

Drawings I have seen were hanging on a wall in the study. Some larger than others.

Should I ever have a house with a study, unless the study was inside of a bank vault, I don't think I would show them off. :)

Go to youtube and look for an old movie called "the Brasher Doubloon". In the first 10 minutes or so, there is a scene where the secretary goes into a vault that has a huge built in coin cabinet and looks through some of the drawers. I would love a set up like that in my house.
