The curved top of the nine points toward the mint mark (instead of a more horizontal direction) The 7 sits slightly lower than the other numerals Liberty appears pretty sharply struck All of these are characteristics of the large date. However, the height of the 7 is not always an indicator also along with a weak liberty to decide if a small date or not. The 6 as well as the notching effect of the 7 (How the hor. bar meets the vertical)are the two best indicators I believe. Liberty can look normal even on a small date as well as the height of the seven. Report this Post to the Staff
