Do these look legit?

They weigh about 13.6 g each, so is the weight differential consistent with the wear?

Do they have any collectable value beyond spot?

They look fine to me.

Not really much "collectability" left in them I'm afraid though

I agree with Bacchus2. The coins look real. Though lower grade, I still love the series. Nice collector coins. I would hate to seee them go to the melting pot.

They are half crowns. 1891 and 1892 are common dates. They have .4205 oz of silver each. Silver is currently $37.00 troy oz. The catalogue value is around $12.00. The silver value is $15.55. That's why they get melted.
