Hello, I have another 2 Q's for you all... I have 2 SBA dollars a 1979 & 1980..

#1. The "79" has some obvious stuff going on and I don't want to call it a DD because I not sure that is what it is because it almost looks like it was DS so this is something I could use some help on please.

#2. The "80" is I believe a "type 2" "closer" ? Also has what looks like some slippage or maybe a worn die?

I just don't know and I would like to catalog them with a sure name and if anyone can help me do that then I thank you!

yessir coppertop5150 you got it on the DS... Wow I'm surprised that that just looks like die dt to you john1.. well at least on the 79 ... Man sometimes I wish I could just pass the coin so people can hold it and move it and just see what the pics just cant show so we all have a better idea on these coins. Time to get some 4D image tech going on! Thanks for the post guys!

You should really stop using abbreviations so much...they are confusing because they are not numismatic abbreciations.

The first coin is Die Deterioration.

The second coin is normal.

OK coppercoins Well I will do my best.. I was unaware that DD didn't = double die and also the same with DS = double strike? That is just how I was schooled I guess you could say.. JFYI I found your site the other day and I was very impressed

Thanks for the confirmation on my Die Deterioration and sorry if I confused anyone.. I didn't know I was not using proper terms.

There are no types for the 1980 SBAs.
