Goal: Set of CC Morgan dollars.

First Purchase: 1885 CC GSA. Probably the most expensive coin I will ever buy, but I wanted to get all the GSA Carsons that are "within reach" Got it for about $560. It was the best price I could find.

Next I got an 1890 CC in an NGC slab. I think I overpaid just a bit for it @ $160 but I really like the coin now that I have it, so I'm not going to worry.

Im going to post some higher resolution pictures in the grading section if anyone is interested.

In order to pay for these I'm going to have to sell some 83 or 84 CC GSAs and probably some Silver Quarters In the near future.

Good luck. I've only got 2 CC Morgans and they are both lower circulated quality.

Good luck Cali. Still waiting on my first CC Morgan. Wouldn't be hard if my budget wasn't allocated over so many different sets.

I have a 1882 MS 63 or 64 CC I may be willing to trade for some common silver US coins. I'm not sure how that works though as I am new here. My name on ebay is silverlove2011 if you want to look me up there. I also have a 78, 84, and a 1889 cc that I really over paid for. I will be on the look out for your post about the junk silver.

The 1889 CC is going to be a real tough one for sure.

This is actually going to be a lot harder than I first thought...hehe. Plus my plan was to sell some 1883 and 1884 CCs for funds to complete the collection, but the longer I have them the more I like them and dont want to say goodbye!

How could I say goodbye to these babies?

Love the site, love buying, selling, collecting and hoarding silver coins. I am also finding a love for old currency. Anyone collecting Morgan CC's keep me in mind if you have some bulk coins for trade. Here is a 1889 CC I picked up at auction two weeks ago.

I love those CC and the S mint state Morgans. The western mints had much better quality strikes than the Pand O mints.

For that reason - admiring the strike quality. I find myself possessing a few CC to have hold and admire. I don't especially add a coin just because Of a vacant spot for each date in my collection, so I generally don't buy an S or CC unless it is primo

But that's just me

I thoroughly understand the romanace attached to owning a well used CC and imagining how the old gamblers may once have held it close or kissed it goodbye
