A long time ago my oldest daughter started with the state quater book hung on her wall. Me and my wife have been helping her since then. Well my daughter really took into the coin collecting and has amased quite a collection, shes only 11 BTW. Well I remember 1 day hitting her favaorite coin shop at our local flea market. I was talking to the owner while she was browing. Well, he was telling me about Star bills, etc. Ever since then I have been looking for them. 1 day awhile back I found a $1 star and gave it to my daughter. Well today I hit the ATM for breakfast and got a $20 star. Ever since then I have been reading on this website for about 11 hours straight. I think I have found a new hobby! Sorry this is so long, just thought Id introduce myself.

BTW the $20 I have is GF00118011 - trianary, I think?

Getting hooked seems to be a theme around here.

But, we can quit at anytime. Really.

[W] to the forums! :)

And yes, that $20 is a trinary.. Only three different numbers in the serial: 0, 1, 8. There has been much debate in these forums if such a serial is special.. I think it's more special than a normal serial..
Rest in Peace

I hit the bank on Monday and got a single star $20. Nothing special best I can tell, but I'm still keeping it.

Yesterday I worked a side job at a bank. A guy brought one of the orange and white drink coolers in full of change to deposit. They have a machine that automatically counts/bags the change. Anything that is rejected gets put in a little tray. Anyway, the total deposit was $1100 in change!! Could you imagine digging through all that! Well anyway, he looks at the discard tray and hold up a "funny dime." I asked him if he knew what it was. He said no, just an old dime. I told him that's a Mercury dime and its 90% silver. He gave it to me! Well, I had to buy it from him since I was on duty, but still pretty cool. I gave it to my oldest since shes the coin person. Its really worn, the date is 192X, its worn off.
