inherited coin. Please grade. I've tried to do my best with the photos. There appears to be a die break (correct terminology?) on the observe as well. Thanks!

Really nice inheritance! The photos look good too. Not sure on the Obverse side "die break". It appears to me to be PMD. I'm far from an expert, so we'll wait for them to post.

As far as grade? Obverse F-15, Reverse EF-40. I'm probably way off. Again, we'll see what the experts say.

Congrats on your coin!

F-12, cleaned, retoned, damaged, corroded

Even with the problems, it's still a valuable coin assuming it's genuine. Don't be discouraged by my opinion.

Everything that was already mentioned, but I like the grade of F15-F18.

F15/VF20 Details A wonderful coin to own! It is far from an eyesore. I'd be very proud to have one like it. Probably value this at F12 level.

Thanks for all of your input! I was probably more harsh on my grading and had it at VG-10. I was nervous about it being genuine. I checked the NGC website and the mintmark appears to be genuine from die #4. The serifs look right (ends are parallel to each other). But I suppose the only way to be sure is to send it in... Thanks again!

Believe drdave is correct - die #4. Nice fine coin. GREAT to inherit as well.

Nice inheritance!

I'm thinking F15 details. Although the reverse is a solid VF, there doesn't appear to be any separation between the cheek and jaw on the obverse.

Ricardocody - not sure how to answer your question. Was my father-in-law's coin, I'm not sure how much he paid for it.

If you decide to have it slabbed, definately use ANACS....I would. Cleaned or not, it needs to be certified as genuine.
