My last box was inundated with 2010 & 2011 cents. It's at the point where they're crowding out other possible collectible dates. I've gotten rolls of LP1s, LP2s & LP3s from the bank. NOT a single LP4 either from bank rolls or in pocket change. Where are they?-although the coin dealers always seem to have plenty (as usual).

I have found 10 LP4 P mint cents roll hunting. Last week at the flea market a guy had a whole box($25.00) of LP4 P mint cents and was asking $200.00. With only 129,600,000 minted they are hard to find.

129,600,000 is still a huge number when you consider nothing else around it...but with billions of coins minted in each year going back to the beginning of zinc cents, the pile is bigger.
If I had you search for a needle in a haystack of a million straws, you'd find it a lot faster than if I had you search for that same needle in a haystack containing 10 billion straws. Same principle applies here.

I figured something like this might happen, so I picked up my 2 rolls from the mint when they were released. LP1 isn't so common here either.

These are the four special Lincoln cents issues in 2009, with the 2010+ shield design being the LP5. LP1 = Log Cabin (birth) LP2 = Lincoln sitting on log (early life) LP3 = Lincoln as lawyer (professional life) LP4 = Capital Dome (under construction during his Presidency) LP5 = Union Shield (symbolizes his preservation of the Union) ( listing borrowed and modified from DNA)

LP1 = Log Cabin (birth) LP2 = Lincoln sitting on log (early life) LP3 = Lincoln as lawyer (professional life) LP4 = Capital Dome (under construction during his Presidency) LP5 = Union Shield (symbolizes his preservation of the Union) that was what I thought LP1-LP4 meant, wasn't sure since I only saw 2010 and 2011 mentioned. Would those be noted as LBC LP1?

you mean 2010 & 2011 LSC's (Lincoln shield cents), not LMCs. Just want to point that out

I have two boxes of the LP-4s, but had to drive to DC on the release date to get them.

LP4 coins are harder to find than the others. I can vouch for that, based on my finds. I keep every one I find, given it's BU. If it's of a lesser grade, I give it back to circulation. I've found plenty though. I don't feel it will be a rarity going forward. It's just a lower mint number coin. Only BU examples have any hope in the future in my opinion.

I know this should be stated in roll searching. But I had to tell ya that I found four frosty 2010 and 2 frosty 2011 the other day. Those are great finds in rolls. They are as good as they get from rolls. Big Ed

I may be lucky, I ordered 100 sets of The U. S . Mint LP 4's but then I didn't get any L P 1's from the U. S . Mint. My friend had sent me 50 Rolls of Denver L P 1's. Also lucky that I got 10 Proof Sets of The Lincoln 2009 Cents
