wow... at some point during this rise, a lot of people are going to panic and sell... And that will tear apart this constant growth, and I think you will see that when it hits $50... But then again it could skyrocket still, it has me in a constant state of

I hope they do panic and sell, I hope they drive the price down so low I can buy a swimming pool full of maples and swim through them like Scrooge McDuck. There will be resistance at 50 US of course, so let it be. I don't expect it to last, supplies are shorter than they've ever been.

At this point it is all investment demand.

But, when you read Utah has passed a law making gold and silver legal tender (and 12 other states are considering it), you have to wonder what is up in the minds of legislators down there. This seems to scream a lack of confidence in the US dollar.

It's at $45 US now... On this pace it should hit $50 by early next week, and let the panic begin...

I didn't get near the amount of silver I wanted, if there is panic and it drops back down under 40 dollars an ounce range I will start buying alot again. I don't see that happening though

My father also gave me his coin collection which included a few silver coins, but I will never sell them no matter how high the price goes. They are common dates and well circulated but for me they can't be replaced. My own silver purchases (but not my circulation finds) I am gradually selling off as the price rises though. For most of it I paid between 8-10x face, may hold off for about 30x to sell the rest.

I am not interested in selling but I was more curious what a silver quarter is worth in relation to the spot price. I DO have a 20oz bar of .999 silver he bought in the very early 1980's for around $7/oz...if he recalls correctly. He told me to sell it when silver was $33 a couple of months ago. I got cold feet and hung on to it. Now just riding the bubble till it pops and will probably end up getting......$30.

There is a site that calculates the real-time melt value of all Canadian coins which should be bookmarked by everyone. It's a handy reference, but as per the rules here, I am not allowed to mention the site name or address. I've already been through a week forum suspension for posting it here.
