Delamination, Struck Through Or Damage

This is a 1975 P LMC that has an odd characteristic on the reverse, right of the memorial base.

I suppose it could be cause by delamination, although from what I've read they usually have straight edges.

It could be struck through an object, or it could just be PMD. Anyone care to offer an analysis or opinion?

it looks like it took a hit from the reeded edge of a coin to me.

Could have happened in a coin star machine. Just a guess at to how it happened.

That isn't reeding from any US minted coin. It is damage, but not from the edge of another coin.
