This was part of a recently purchased collection of Barber quarters. Splotchy black toning is unattractive at best, but what would you grade the details?

Looks solid for F-12 details-wise. I suspect the coin has a case of environmental damage, complicated by an attempt to clean. Still, there's a collector out there with an album hole this coin would fill nicely.

Most of the later dated Barber quarters were not struck very well. I would say the coin has VF20 details.

I'd say VF details also. Unattractive toning though.
